Fishing Report: September 25th

FISHING REPORT

Overall this has been a far better week in Steelhead Paradise. Some really really big fish have been caught on some Skeena tributaries.... So you never know until you join us and fish! Fall is here, it's Steelhead Season.

BULKLEY

Water is still in amazing shape. It hasn't really dropped over the last week. Colour and visibility above and below the Telkwa remains excellent. It is raining at the time of writing this report so this may change. A few steelhead have been caught this past week. Fish have been caught in water that is around 4' in depth and slightly faster. Heavy sink tips are most definitely not the way to go. At the most use a type 3 tip. A floating line with a longer leader and a small fly (really small in some instances) has worked.

MORICE

Just like the Bulkley it is in excellent condition at the moment. A few fish have been caught on the Morice as well.

KISPIOX

The Kispiox rose by about 50 centimetres and is un-fishable at this point. Debris is coming down the Kispiox... Not ideal for the folks who are there this week for sure but the water is needed. Fishing the Kispiox as the water recedes is usually a fairly good bet. So keep an eye on the graphs over the next few days. This high water should flush out most of the dead pinks as well. Let's hope for some fantastic fishing in a few days.

SKEENA

The Skeena is borderline fishable in the Hazelton area. It has been fishing well this week in the Kitwanga / Cedarvale area. Again keep an eye on the graphs. If the water levels drop fishing may be good!
