Our History
Oscar's was founded in 1953 by Oscar Hidber and his sister Rose on Main street in Smithers, BC. Over the years, it has been passed down through the Hidber family and now to the Bussmann's, always adapting to the needs of the local and visiting community. Today, Oscar's Fly & Tackle is a beloved gathering place for anglers, known for its high-quality gear, expert advice, and community support. With over 70 years of service and expertise, Oscars Fly & Tackle is a trusted institution for fishing and outdoor enthusiasts in Smithers and Northern BC.
