September 26 Fishing Report

Fishing Report

Low and clear. This sums it up. We are in desperate need of rain. Looking at the weather forecast we may get some precipitation and cooler weather next week. So enjoy fishing in a tee shirt while it lasts.

Fishing for steelhead has been spotty for most. We have had reports of some big big fish caught in the Bulkley this week. Good news. Dry fly fishing is an option still of course. Black/blue bugs have worked also using a sink tip.
Please be extremely cautious when jet boating on any of our rivers. There have been multiple reports of crashes or near crashes. Maybe leave the jet boat at home and bring a pontoon boat?

Please note that the Kispiox Band has decided to restrict river access to the lower Kispiox due to extremely low water.

IF4

Join us Saturday September 29 at Boston Pizza Smithers for IF4 (International Fly Fishing Film Festival). Doors open at 6:30 and the movies start at 7:00PM. Tickets available at Oscar's, McBike and Sports and Hetherington & Hooper.
This event is sponsored by The Upper Skeena Guides Association. Thank you guides!

New at Oscar's

Our good friends at Simms have sent us a batch of their new G3 Bootfoot waders. Bootfoot waders are a must have when fishing our area in late fall. The insulated rubber boot will keep your feet much warmer than stocking foot waders. The G3 wader fits exceptionally well it is very breathable. 4 layer of GORE-TEX in seat and legs & 3 layer GORE-TEX in the upper. Come check them out at Oscar's!
